Herman Kok (DISCvision)
Herman has been active in real estate research and consultancy since 1997. Herman’s real estate research career included positions at Kolpron (Ecorys), ICSC International Council of Shopping Centres, Multi Corporation, and MARK (previously Meyer Bergman), with activities in a wide range of markets through Europe. Herman’s academic background is Social Geograph, Economic Geography, Regional Geography, and Political Geography. He obtained his PhD in Human Geography at Utrecht University in 1999 by defending a thesis on socialist ad post-socialist urbanisation and suburbanisation trends in Central Europe. Herman’s interest is a balanced mix of quantitative and qualitative market research on national and regional level including market benchmarking, and micro location assessments. With economic and social indicators as starting point, he is working with socio-cultural parameters as well to gain a better understanding of varieties in behaviour patterns and decision-making patterns between markets.
